the empty pot

Ping is a talented child-gardener who especially loves to grow flowers. When the emperor invites all the children to accept special seeds and plant them as a test to determine his successor, Ping is ready to participate in the challenge.

He plants the seed, tends it carefully, and…nothing happens. When the apppointed day comes, Ping joins the other children, but he comes embarrassed because he has nothing to offer the emperor but a pot of bare soil.

A lovely tale of the rewards of honesty and integrity.
