What makes good gifts for book lovers besides more books (and infinite bookshelf space)? Here are some lovely things we’ve recently discovered that would be perfect to wrap in brown paper and tie up with string.
Gifts that support small, independent businesses
- If you have a soft spot in your heart for books, Oxford, or London, and have ever wondered what would happen if Reepicheep wandered into our world…these notecards, ornaments, and prints are just for you. The notecards would make a lovely framed trio!
- Here is a really lovely magazine for girls ages 8-12 filled with creative ideas, fiction and nonfiction, helpful tips, and warmhearted girlishness. A quality product.
- I have my preferred Signo office store pens, but which writing instrument will I always pick up first? My fountain pen, of course. I’ve used a basic Pilot Metropolitan for a while, but recently enjoyed the privilege of trying a Lamy Safari pen from Goldspot. (affiliate link) Do I like it? It’s extra fine as I like it, smoother than my Pilot or Signo, and now I’m looking for excuses to write something by hand.
- If you’re looking at print magazine subscriptions, we certainly recommend the Redeemed Reader Quarterly!
Gifts from Amazon
- The Book Lover’s Journal lots of good options to choose from!
- The Ultimate Reading Challenge: Complete a Goal, Open an Envelope, and Reveal Your Bookish Prize! Betsy’s daughter has really enjoyed this one.
- I needed this personal library kit when I was growing up. Maybe I need it now…
- In case you happen to have space on your bookshelf, these narrow book nook dioramas are intriguing (DIY assembly required).
- Fun literary necklaces for fairy tale lovers, Ranger’s Apprentice fans…
- A hooded cloak is a necessity to REALLY feel like any of your favorite literary characters. They are also practical enough to wear in public, for those of us who are bold enough to do so.

Could you double check the links on this and the boys one? The Book Lover’s Journal link doesn’t work on either, the hooded cloak doesn’t work on the boys and the personal library kit link doesn’t work on this one.
Hi Heidi! Thank you SO much for letting me know. I had technical trouble the first day they posted, and they seemed to be fixed, but apparently not the links. I’ve double-checked them all, but if you have further trouble, I’m happy to help.
