I Can Read! Made by God series, edited by Mary Hassinger. Zonderkidz, 2010-2011, 32 pages.

Reading Level: Easy/Leveled Readers, Ages 4-8
Maturity Level: Level 2 (Ages 4-8)

Each volume in this God-honoring nonfiction series describes four fascinating creatures with plenty of interesting details and colorful photos. The wisdom and goodness of God in his creation is shown throughout each book as he is glorified for his beautiful designs and curious wonders. The series covers a broad range of fascinating creatures that are popular with young readers. Whether a child prefers tame, fluffy, smelly, venomous, wet, cold, feathered, curious, or familiar animals, plants, or insects, there are at least a couple volumes that will be appealing. The price is very reasonable either in print or on e-reader so it is easy to stock a library. Definitely recommended. Some may pick up occasional minor environmentalist statements, but this may be used to talk about the responsibility God has given us to be good stewards of his creation.

Cautions: worldview (slight environmentalism)
Recommended use: curriculum (science, biology, zoology, botany), parents, independent reading, read-aloud
Literary quality: 3.5 out of 5
Worldview/moral value: 4.5

How would you compare these to the Christian Liberty Nature Readers?

These are written at a much lower reading level. Not as much informative content as the Christian Liberty Nature Readers, but creation-based nonfiction for beginning readers to attempt on their own.
