Description
We need good stories, stories that are full of hope, stories of people overcoming hardship and going on great adventures. We need stories that point us to Truth with a capital “T.”
That’s why we created Hope on the Horizon: a 6-week Christian summer reading program that combines great stories with biblical truth. Hope on the Horizon is about our true hope, but it’s also about oceans, ships, and nautical adventures. We’ll read stories, meditate on God’s word, and earn the rank of Admiral.
Other summer reading programs focus on combating the “summer slide” by tracking minutes read or books completed. We think summer reading is also an opportunity to disciple your children while reading great books.
Other summer reading programs may feature books that aren’t a good fit for your family. We carefully select our books to be compatible with a biblical worldview.
We know Christian parents are looking for great book ideas for their children and teens. At Redeemed Reader, we’re reading ahead for you. We’ll help you raise discerning readers even as you’re enjoying good stories together.
Our Christian summer reading program will help you have a memorable summer full of great stories, biblical truth, and lots of fun.
Your purchase of the Hope on the Horizon summer reading program includes a pdf download with the following parts:
- directions for packing your “sea-chest” (recommended reading list!)
- family-friendly activity ideas that you can do at any point during the program
- weekly devotionals (6 in total) that include discussion questions and small activity ideas
- weekly “Message in a Bottle” from a contemporary children’s author or illustrator (all of whom are Christians); one message is from a children’s literature critic, not author
- bookmarks your children can color and use
- a tracker to help you check off each week
