I’m so excited to share our 2012 Writing Contest Short Story finalists with you all today! First, though, I’d like to say thanks to our intern, Autumn, who was kind enough to help us choose our finalists. We do have three finalists out of quite a few fantastic entries, and we’d like you to help us choose between them and Hayley Schoeppler’s essay, Looking Behind, for an overall winner. The person who gets the most votes will win a $50 gift card to Amazon.com!
THE FINALISTS: Read them here!
1. When Pigs Fly by Lane Elder.
2. The Tale of the Monstrous Beast by Hayley Schoeppler.
3. Part of the Exhibit by Katie Oostman.
4. Looking Behind by Hayley Schoeppler. (This was our winner in the essay contest.)
VOTE IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED!
Voting ended at noon Central Time on Monday, January 7th. Overall winner will be announced soon.
***We’ve had a few people report problems with the poll. If you can’t get your vote to register here in the poll, please just leave it in the comments and I’ll tabulate it manually. Thanks!***

I loved both The tale of the mosterous Beast and Part of the exibit but chose part of the exibit because its set in modern times and the main character is my age and does stuff that i would really like to do while being educational, thank you. (the author of this comment was also a finalist in the hobbit radio theater contest.)
Thanks for your input, Taia! It’ll be fun to see who agrees with you. Happy to see you back at the site. : )
