What Is It About?

We distilled our years of experience reading and writing about books for children and teens into one reference volume we hope will live on your shelf for years to come. We begin with the foundations, looking for God's Truth in the best Stories. We move from there to:

  • discussing discernment, worldview, and other big picture concerns
  • exploring specific issues (such as environmentalism, diversity, identity)
  • examining particular genres (such as dystopian or romance) and formats (picture books, graphic novels)
  • offering practical tips for loving your local library and managing your home library

Each of the book's 25 chapters includes a "micro-list" at the end for further reading: one title for the grownups followed by a list for your children and teens. The appendix is a list of all of our starred reviews to date!

Where To Find The Book:

Check your local library first! If your library doesn't have a copy of the book, request that they purchase it.

If you'd like to purchase the book, check your local bookstores to see if they carry it. If you wish to shop online, we recommend one of the businesses to the right. Do check prices because Amazon is not always the least expensive!

Note: we are affiliates for some of these stores (Amazon, Westminster Books, Christian Book, and Bookshop) and may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.
