Mighty, Mighty Construction Site by Sherri Dusky Rinker

The hardworking construction team needs help! Working cheerfully, they get a big job done.

Mighty, Mighty Construction Site by Sherri Dusky Rinker, illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld.  Chronicle Books, 2017, 32 pages

Reading Level: Picture books, ages 0-4

Recommended for: ages 0-4

The delightful construction crew awakens from a good night’s rest ready for a new project, but they can’t do it alone. When each is paired with a suitable helper, the tasks are completed on time. Cheerful teamwork is key! This reminds me of how the biblical principle of roles applies in families and the church, as well as in the workplace. Each member has a part to play and shares the joy of success.

Rinker follows up her bestseller with a worthy sequel that pleases fans of Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site. This isn’t an easy accomplishment, but it works. Lichtenheld’s droll illustrations are warm and cheery as always, lending unique personality to each character.

Although this will probably be available in your local library, if you know a truck lover this is a worthwhile purchase for the home or a gift. Highly recommended.
