*Wind Watchers by Micha Archer

Wind Watchers celebrates the beauty of the Wind using beautiful illustrations and a gentle text.

*Wind Watchers by Micha Archer. Nancy Paulsen Books, 2025. 32 pages.

Wind is busy! In the spring, Wind makes petals “flutter and fall.” As we go through the year, Wind does all sorts of marvelous things, from filling sails to causing rain to blow, to scattering seeds, to blowing in the from the North (and bringing the snow).

This is a deceptively simple book, but that is part of its charm. Archer’s collage art is truly impressive. Illustrations are remarkably realistic even though they are strips of paper put together. The three children engage in all sorts of childlike activities, from flying kites to messing about in boats to ice skating. And somehow, the illustrations capture both the children’s activities and the feel of the wind.

This is a must if you are studying weather in a nature study class, but it’s also a terrific book to read with younger children before going outside to marvel at the wind that God has made.

Bottom Line: Look for Wind Watchers in your local library! If you are studying weather in a classroom or homeschool environment, you might consider purchasing it.
