2021 Summer Reading: Faith & Fortitude Is Here!

2021 Summer Reading Theme

We’re very excited about the 2021 summer reading theme: Faith & Fortitude: the EPIC Story of God’s People.

Why?

We’re big fans of EPIC by Tim Challies, and we’ve been planning this for months!

We’re also big fans of reading about God’s work among his people, through all time and in all places.

We’re looking forward to spending 6 weeks this summer reading select chapters in EPIC, meditating on God’s faithfulness to his people, praising him through singing, and learning more about the church in our own communities.

What’s Included?

Participants will receive a 2021 summer reading e-zine that they may print or simply view on a device. The e-zine will have extra reading suggestions for each week (there are never enough book lists, am I right?!), suggested coordinating activities that expand upon that week’s theme, and extra articles from people such as Tim Challies and Trillia Newbell. There’s also a fun “passport” included for you to track what you read and what you do together as a family.

And… there will be a weekly email with a devotional and links for some of the suggested activities.

Everyone who registers will receive access to our brand new Summer Reading Hub, a sort of one-stop-shop for all our summer reading resources. We’ll upload the devotionals and the e-zine as they are available.

Bonus: all participants will receive a 40% off coupon for Heritage Hymns from Heritage Mom: this is a truly amazing product that we highly recommend. We’re not affiliates–we just love sharing great resources!

What Sets Our 2021 Summer Reading Program Apart?

We go into this a bit more on our main summer reading page, but the gist is this: We’ve been promoting and sharing unique summer reading programs for years. We’ve always included devotionals and books that are especially picked out for family reading with multiple ages together. There’s more to reading than checking boxes, tracking pages, and words on a page, and our desire is to help equip parents and educators to disciple their children as they read with and to them. Our summer reading programs are the time when we intentionally walk this journey together, using particular books so we’re all on the same page, as it were. (pun intended!)

We also use our summer reading proceeds to help benefit other book- and reading-related ministries. This year’s recipients are an orphan care ministry that needs books for their libraries and a vocational training ministry that includes literacy training and discipleship on the side. We’ll be profiling both of these later this month.

Sounds Great! How Do I Register?
