RR-SummerbigTHANK YOU

It’s been a fun couple of months during our Summer Reading Challenge, and my family has enjoyed reading along with you all.  We’re taking next week off to prepare for the upcoming months, but before we do, we want to say thanks for all your support during the read along.

Thanks for such a great selection! My two boys, Isaac and Ethan, really enjoyed the reading, and completed the seven recommended reads . Where the Mountain Meets the Moon was a favorite of both. I also enjoyed the discussion questions you offered to get their feedback on the books. It was a great opportunity. I hope you do it next year!

My 12yo daughter Abigail, my 8yo daughter Beatrix, and my 6yo daughter Charlotte each read at least five of the seven main recommended titles. Thank you for hosting the challenge. We enjoyed it and look forward to more of your reading challenges!

Serena, John, Grace and Kara all finished the reading challenge. We enjoyed The Light Princess, Prince’s Poison Cup, and Pilipintos Happiness together. They each enjoyed reading additional books on their own. Serena really like The Middle of Somewhere and Cheaney’s other book My Friend the Enemy. Island of the Blue Dolphins is one of her favorite also. John loved that there were Graphic Novels on the list. He loves The Adventures of TinTin. He also enjoyed Around the World. Grace enjoyed Betsy-Tacy which a friend had recently given her and Owls in the Family. She loved listening to Dr. DoLittle and thinks it would be great to be a vet and actually talk to the animals. Kara enjoyed lots of the early readers like Madeline, Cowgirl Kate and Cocoa, Hot Air and Toot and Puddle.

Thank you for doing this. I like having the list of great books to suggest to them. 🙂

Both of my girls read 5 books each from your list and loved each book. Thank you so much for the Summer Reading List. It was so helpful!

It might be easier to list the ones they did not read! Patti and Reudie are avid readers who devour books. Rickie, Pansi, and Penni read more slowly, but also benefit from frequent read-alouds by Patti and Mom. That was a great list, and altho the read-along has ended, I am sure we will finish tackling the rest of the list before summer is up.

Thank you so much for all you do.

Thanks so much, Emily! Now I can tell my kids they didn’t win without feeling guilty. 🙂 We have really enjoyed the books we won!

Wow! I just came back from vacation to find this! What a double treat – it was so great for my girls to read the books you listed and then now to win is so amazing. Thank you for this blog, a great summer reading list, and now the gift card!
